Flow, explore, repeat
Welcome to Respira, a retreat to allow us to do just that- breathe.

This co-ed retreat is designed for those of you ready to unplug from the noise, reconnect with nature, and rediscover presence. With the constant noise in society to achieve, succeed, support, and push through, I wanted to create a retreat to help you take a pause. Where we can slow down, connect with like-minded people, and realign with our truest selves. We blend daily yoga, outdoor adventure, and rest in the stunning nature of Yelapa.
It's not about escaping our life; it is about coming back to the version of ourselves that is wild, free, and grounded.
While we explore the sacred jungle and ocean, the real journey will be within through gentle yoga practices, rest, and reflection. All yoga classes are accessible to everyBODY- from seasoned yogis to curious beginners. Yelapa: Where the river meets the sea...
Yelapa is a quaint fishing village nestled along Mexico’s Pacific coast. Just 40 minutes by boat from the lively streets of Puerto Vallarta, this car-free paradise feels a world away from the hustle and bustle. Upon arrival, you’re greeted by calm beaches, delicious local cuisine, rich culture, and lush jungle landscapes.
With water taxis as the main way in and out, and transportation by footpaths, horses, and ATVs, Yelapa has a true island feel that gives it its unique charm. It is widely considered a safe sanctuary for solo travelers, families, and couples seeking rest, simplicity, and a deeper connection with nature.
Many visitors and residents describe Yelapa as having a powerful healing energy. It is believed to sit along ancient energy lines, or ley lines, said to connect sacred sites and places of power. This is part of the magic that draws people to Yelapa—inviting healing, rejuvenation, and a deeper spiritual connection.
Come experience the magic for yourself!!

Frequently Asked Questions
I know traveling can be overwhelming! I am here to support you in your journey and am happy to answer any more questions you may have!
Where Do I Fly?
You will fly into Puerto Vallarta (PVR Gustavo Diaz Ordaz International Airport). Flights need to arrive by 3 pm on November 9th.
Where do I go after I arrive in PV?
From the airport, we’ll head to Los Muertos Pier in Puerto Vallarta’s Zona Romántica. There are plenty of transportation options. Taxis are easy to find just outside the airport, with an approximate fare of $25. You’ll pay inside the taxi before leaving the airport grounds—this is a normal process due to airport fees for taxi drivers.
Another option is to arrange private transportation. I’m happy to share more details if you’d like to choose this option.
How do I get from Los Muertos Pier to Yelapa?
Your taxi will bring you to the top of Calle Francisca Rodríguez, the street leading to the pier. Enjoy a short walk down to the waterfront, where we’ll gather as a group at Cuates y Cuates, the restaurant on the right. Feel free to grab a drink or snack while we wait. From there, we’ll take the water taxi together to Yelapa.
Is it safe?
Yes — Yelapa is considered very safe and is known for its peaceful, welcoming vibe. The close-knit local community attracts travelers seeking nature, relaxation, and cultural connection. Crime is extremely rare, and most visitors feel comfortable walking around town during the day and evening.
As with any travel destination, we recommend using common-sense precautions: keep personal belongings secure, be aware of your surroundings, and follow local guidance. I have spent 7 years in the area and always feel safe!
How do I navigate money?
There are no ATMs in Yelapa. I highly recommend ordering pesos from your bank before your travel. (allow a few weeks for this) Your bank will give you a better exchange rate. While some places accept card, it is best to have cash for shopping and lunches.
What level of physical activity should I expect?
Yelapa is known for its main form of transportation being walking. With cobblestone streets and uneven pathways, it is important to be able to navigate the streets of Yelapa via walking. Activities offered include daily gentle yoga classes, a 7-mile roundtrip hike to the waterfall, and snorkeling. All activities are optional but highly encouraged.
What should I bring?
Think super casual/comfy beach vibe!! With temps in the 70°-82°, layers are recommended. There is lots of sunshine during the day and a light breeze at night. I will send a full packing list to everyone before the retreat!
PRO TIP: Pack in a duffle bag or backpack! Rolling bags are hard to navigate in the terrain of Yelapa.
What is the Casa Like?
Casa Azul is a stunning new oceanfront home nestled along the shores of Yelapa’s bay. The house features three spacious king suites along with a dorm-style room offering four queen beds. A large, fully equipped kitchen will host our shared meals, and the cozy living area is perfect for unwinding with a cup of tea in the evenings.
Multiple balconies and terraces invite you to relax and take in the views, while the rooftop deck offers an ideal space for yoga, whale watching, and sunbathing. Just a few minutes walk down the pathway will bring you to Playa Isabel, a beautiful and calm beach perfect for swimming. For your comfort, Casa Azul is equipped with air conditioning, WiFi, and safe drinking water throughout.
Retreat Etiquette
This is an intimate retreat with a small group, and I ask that everyone be respectful of each other's journey and experience. We are all on different paths, but have chosen to join together to experience the magic Yelapa has to offer. Let's make an effort to support and love one another while we reflect, connect and grow!
Tipping for services
The locals' livelihood is dependent on tourism, including tips. It is customary to tip when you receive an extra service. This can include assistance with luggage, a massage, or an ATV ride.
What are some things I can do on my free time?
On the first day of our retreat, I get everyone acquainted with the layout of the town, ensuring that you feel comfortable going out to explore on your own! From nightlife such as live music, to a relaxing massage, there are plenty of ways to spend your free time.
